Recently, the stunning delicacies of Datong city in North China's Shanxi province made a grand appearance at a Chinese food culture promotion event at the Chinese Embassy in Sweden. 

A team of chefs from Datong meticulously prepared a series of Shanxi's specialty dishes and also performed live demonstrations of wheaten food making techniques. This feast left more than 30 guests, including the Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin and several Swedish dignitaries, delighted.

The event serves as an important platform for promoting Chinese culinary culture. This year's event in Sweden was organized by Datong, and it was hosted by the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry and the China Cultural Center in Stockholm. This event has enhanced the understanding and appreciation of Chinese cuisine and the Spring Festival culture among people in Sweden. 

In June 2023, the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry awarded Datong the honorary title of "International Capital of Gastronomy", marking a new chapter in Datong's culinary journey.
