Datong has leveraged its advantages in ice and snow, hot springs, and folk customs to create a new cultural tourism brand that will elevate its international influence.

On Nov 25, the 5th China Datong Ice and Snow Festival kicked off, featuring a series of ice and snow events that increased enthusiasm for winter sports. 

As a national key city for health and wellness, Datong has unique advantages, such as natural volcanic resources and abundant geothermal energy. Thanks to these advantages, it has been promoting high-quality and personalized "hot springs + wellness" products and services, which have optimized and enhanced its hot spring wellness brand. 

The city has also launched 12 selected winter travel routes. One such route is the Ancient City of Datong, which is known for its rich history, ancient architecture, and exquisite sculptures. 

Around the New Year's Day holiday, the Spring Festival, and the Lantern Festival, Datong will host 118 cultural tourism events. This includes the Datong New Year Concert, the Datong Ancient City Lantern Festival, the Datong Ancient City Spring Festival Temple Fair, and an intangible cultural heritage and folk customs exhibition.
