Datong promotes digital economy project matchmaking
A digital economy industrial project matchmaking conference was held in Datong city, North China's Shanxi province, on Oct 26.
Representatives from more than 10 digital economy-related companies nationwide attended.
Lu Dongliang, Party secretary of Datong, expressed his hope that attending companies would consider Datong as a strategic city for long-term development and investment, introduce more advanced technologies and innovative products, and help attract more upstream and downstream companies to the city.
The representatives said they would leverage their respective strengths and collaborate with Datong in areas such as IT and network equipment, intelligent computing centers, smart city projects, the deeper integration of industry and education, and talent cultivation.
In recent years, Datong has been constructing an industrial ecosystem covering the entire digital economy field. It aims to create a big data industrial cluster, a green data storage center with regional influence in North China, an important manufacturing base for big data equipment in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and a leading national base for basic data services in the artificial intelligence industry.
Currently, a group of leading companies in the sector, including Chindata Group and BCI Group, have invested and set up projects in Datong. The city has also completed the construction of 43,000 high-density racks and put into operation 441,000 servers.
