Provincial games for people with disabilities open in Datong

The 12th Shanxi Provincial Games for People with Disabilities opened in Datong city, North China's Shanxi province, on Sept 6.
During the opening ceremony, 128 people with disabilities, 176 volunteers, and 11 charitable organizations participated in cultural and sports performances, showcasing the positive spirit of people with disabilities in Shanxi.
Hosted by the Shanxi Provincial Government and jointly organized by the Shanxi Disabled Persons' Federation, Shanxi Sport Bureau, and the Datong city government, the games feature 13 individual events and four team events, including athletics, swimming, visually impaired judo, shooting, archery, wheelchair fencing, and floor curling.
A total of 442 athletes from 11 cities in the province are participating this year, making this the largest, highest-level, and most competitive sports event ever held for people with disabilities in the province.
