Datong land port national logistics hub in the city of Datong was recently included in the list of places to be developed into national logistics hubs in 2022, the only place in North China's Shanxi province to be included.

The hub has promoted the high-quality development and clustering of advantageous industries in the city, and has been committed to becoming a modern, regional and comprehensive international inland port with international competitiveness integrating international logistics as well as financial and information data services.

It is positioned as an international land port connecting Mongolia, Russia and Europe, a platform for the green transformation and development of Datong (China's "coal capital"), a logistics organization hub for the coordinated development of the provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, and Shaanxi as well as Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and a key cold chain logistics base serving the Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The construction of the hub will effectively improve national logistics node infrastructure and logistics modernization, promote the development of domestic and foreign trade in northern Shanxi, and enhance Datong's economic status in domestic and international markets.

As the operator of Datong land port, Huayuan Land Port Group Datong Co has continued to enhance the port's functions, and has made positive contributions to the development of foreign trade in Shanxi. Over the past two years, the company has achieved total revenue of 6.2 billion yuan ($867.44 million), imports and exports of 2.8 billion yuan, and paid 160 million yuan in taxes and 114 million yuan in customs duties.
