National urban medical consortiums will be built in the cities of Taiyuan, Datong and Yuncheng in North China's Shanxi province this year. 

To enhance the service capabilities of municipal and county-level hospitals, the province will implement a comprehensive ability-improvement project for county-level hospitals, promote the construction of clinical service centers as well as emergency service and first aid centers, and finish the pilot development of 5G-based telemedicine in a collection of county-level medical groups. 

The reform of public hospitals will be furthered and the construction on the demonstration hospitals of high-quality development will be accelerated. 

While improving the medical capacity and services in counties and cities, Shanxi will advance the construction of national regional medical centers and provincial regional medical centers. 

By cooperating with Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Xiyuan Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the province will improve national regional medical centers in Shanxi Bethune Hospital, Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, and Hospital Affiliated to Shanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
