The city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province has been developing a provincial daylily product quality inspection and testing center so as to develop the local daylily industry.

The testing capacity of the Datong Municipal Comprehensive Inspection and Testing Center continued to improve. Last October and November, the center obtained the qualification certification of inspection and testing institutions and the assessment certificate of agricultural product quality and safety testing institutions.

Its primary daylily product certification program has covered 185 parameters, including pesticide residue, heavy metals and pollutants, nutrition and ingredients, and its processed daylily product certification program covers 90 parameters in 10 categories of products, including dried daylilies, daylily pies, and daylily beer.

The center has also improved its services by carrying out risk assessments on daylily quality and safety in major local daylily growth areas and put forward risk prevention measures.

According to the local authority's plan, the Datong Municipal Comprehensive Inspection and Testing Center will be approved by the Shanxi Daylily Product Quality Inspection and Testing Center within 18 months, and develop into a national daylily product quality inspection and testing center within two years.

At that time, the center will provide more high-quality testing services for daylily production enterprises, improving the production, deep processing and quality of daylily products.
