A project signing, commencement and commissioning ceremony for development zones in North China's Shanxi province was held on June 22.

At the ceremony, the development zones signed 321 projects into effect, started work on 302 projects, and put 189 projects into production. The projects focus on modern coal chemicals, equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, big data, modern medicine and health. 

Lin Wu, Party secretary of the province, emphasized that it is necessary to improve the infrastructure of development zones, and appropriately advance new infrastructure projects such as 5G base stations, internet of things, industrial and energy internet. 

In addition, it is necessary to make good use of direct financing tools such as local government bonds, give full play to the role of the development zones in investment and financing, accelerate the establishment of a diversified investment and financing system, as well as prevent debt risks, with the aim of providing high-quality financial services for the development of projects in development zones, Lin added.
