Datong gets busy with projects in first quarter of 2022

Key projects in the first quarter of 2022 started or resumed construction on March 30 in the Datong Economic Development Zone – located in the prefecture level city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province. 

It was announced at a signing ceremony in the zone on the day that 716 projects, costing a combined 194.08 billion yuan ($30.60 billion), had either broken ground or recommenced. Planned investment of 56.49 billion yuan is expected to be outlaid in the current year for the projects. 

Of these, 310 are industrial projects, involving big data, new materials, equipment manufacturing, ecological and environmental protection and the cultural tourism sectors. In addition, 166 are infrastructure projects and 240 are social services and public welfare projects.
