The city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province will roll out a series of measures this year to boost local socioeconomic development, according to its recently released annual government work report. 

The measures are intended to achieve 10 different goals - expanding industrial economy, developing the tertiary sector of the economy, advancing rural revitalization, incubating market players, accelerating urban-rural integration, optimizing business environment, furthering reform and opening-up, developing ecological civilization, and improving people's living standards.

Datong plans to strengthen high-quality development focusing on the industries of coal, power, equipment manufacturing, modern medicine and health, new energy, big data, new materials, and general aviation. 

The city will accelerate the development of the cultural, tourism and health care sectors, build a comprehensive health care industry zone and a national logistics hub based on the local land port, as well as promote consumption upgrading. 

To boost rural revitalization, the city will develop its local planting and breeding industry and agricultural product processing industry, as well as carry out rural construction and agricultural and rural reform. 

More market players in various categories will be incubated with the policy support of local authorities as well as existing and under-construction platforms. 

The city will speed up urban renewal and the construction of large counties, promote the protection and development of Datong Ancient City, and refine urban management. 

It will offer efficient and convenient administrative services, further the construction of the local credit system, and provide regular on-site services to enterprises to better the local business environment.

The reform of State-owned enterprises will be deepened and the construction of development zones will be advanced. The city will improve platforms for opening-up and stimulate innovation. 

To enhance the local natural environment, Datong will increase efforts in pollution control and ecological corridor construction, as well as take actions to help the country achieve its goal of reaching peak carbon emissions before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060.

As for people's wellbeing, the city will continue to improve employment skills training, boost income growth, build a high-quality education system, develop the social security system, and promote public cultural undertakings.
