The JD Logistics (Datong) Customer Service Center was recently established in the city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province.

The JD Logistics (Datong) Customer Service Center offers order processing, technical training, and service consultation, and handles customer complaints through telephone, webpage, mobile phone applications, e-mail, and blog.

Tian Lin, vice-president of JD Logistics Group, said that the customer service center will provide solid industrial support for Datong's development, offer employees broad career development space and learning opportunities, and attract more young talent back to their hometown to work or start their own businesses.

The center is expected to create over 3,000 high-quality positions and attract more people to Datong.

The center also marks a new stage of cooperation between the city and JD Group, a Fortune Global 500 enterprise boasting technical, talent, and systemic strength in e-commerce, modern logistics, and digital technology, which will help develop the local digital economy.

According to Mayor Zhang Qiang, local authorities will fully support the innovative, rapid, and high-quality development of JD Group's various businesses in the city.

In recent years, Datong has been focusing on the development of the big data industry by boosting related industries, including server manufacturing and data labeling based on the construction of internet data centers.

The city has convinced leading big data enterprises such as Chindata Group and JD to expand their operations there, and formed big data industrial clusters.

Zhang said that the city would next promote the coordinated development of big data and new energy, aim to build a big data industry cluster with an investment of 100 billion yuan ($15.63 billion), and transform from a coal-rich city to a city strong in data and computing.
