The 6th Jackie Chan International Action Film Week was held in the city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province on Oct 14-16.
The film week was hosted by the Program Center of the Movie Channel of China Central Television, the Datong municipal government, and Jackie Chan International Group.
Well-known filmmakers and celebrities in the film industry shared their opinions on the development of action films during the three-day event.
A list of the top 10 classic Chinese action films was announced after a selection by audiences, netizens, experts, and the jury of the Jackie Chan International Action Film Week.
At the closing ceremony of the event, Jackie Chan, founder of the event and legendary movie star, promoted Datong daylilies.
He suggested that filmmakers and people from all walks of life take action to promote Datong's agricultural specialties for public welfare purposes and contribute to local rural revitalization.
The Jackie Chan International Action Film Week, which has been held five times, aims to honor filmmakers who have made outstanding contributions to action films, with a focus on cultivating a new force behind Chinese action films and building an action film exchange platform to help Chinese culture spread abroad. The event has been held in Datong since 2018, with its scale and influence continuing to rise.
