The Guangling Economic and Technological Development Zone, based in Guangling county of the city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province, was recently included on a list of 18 pilot cities, industrial parks, and zones in Shanxi for the 2021 "Innovation China" announced by the Shanxi Association for Science and Technology. 

The Shanxi Association for Science and Technology launched the construction of pilot cities, industrial parks, and zones in Shanxi for "Innovation China" at the beginning of this year in an effort to attract talent and professionals, and integrate technology and services to help enterprises promote the high-quality development of Shanxi. 

According to the person in charge of the zone, the recognition will help bring in more technological innovation enterprises, professionals, and applications to the Guangling Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Established in July 2020, the zone mainly focuses on developing the materials and agricultural and sideline product processing industries. 

It is home to three industrial parks for agricultural and sideline product processing, the circular economy, and high technology, and serves as a base for new materials manufacturing, modern emergency equipment, deep processing, and the logistics of agricultural products.

There are 42 enterprises in the zone, including two high-tech enterprises.

Next, the zone plans to integrate the resources of the government, enterprises, societies, and the market and open up matchmaking channels between the zone and domestic and foreign projects, talent, and technology so as to accelerate the construction of a whole-chain innovation system.
