Datong, French firms to cooperate in new construction materials
Shanxi Huarui Building Materials Co, based in Yungang district in the city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Saint-Gobain China on Oct 9.
Saint-Gobain, headquartered in France, is a Fortune Global 500 enterprise with a history of 356 years. Its products and solutions cover all aspects of construction, transportation, infrastructure, and industrial applications. Gypsum is an important business segment of Saint-Gobain China.
The signing of the agreement indicated that Saint-Gobain China and Shanxi Huarui have formed a cooperative relationship to jointly develop new building gypsum products and build a green production base for new gypsum materials.
The two sides will complement each other's strengths, integrate their resources, and jointly explore and develop new energy-saving, low-carbon, green, and environmentally-friendly products to contribute to the high-quality development of Yungang district.
In recent years, Yungang district has made every effort to build a modern industrial system and has attracted large high-quality projects with its strong business environment.
Projects concerning the integration of new bio-based materials, decolorizing activated carbon, environmental protection, the capture and utilization of carbon dioxide, smart medical wearable equipment, non-ferrous metal casting, and the deep processing of traditional Chinese medicine have been established in the district.
The partnership was a milestone for the district in the development of an export-oriented economy, according to Zhao Xuebin, vice-mayor of Datong. He expressed hope that district authorities would help the project begin production as soon as possible through favorable policies, a strong business environment, and high-quality services.
