Datong locals relax on traditional holiday
Major tourist attractions in the city of Datong in North China's Shanxi province were visited 44,800 times during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept 19 to 21, generating 3.34 million yuan ($516,127.79) in ticket revenue.
Traveling to surrounding areas and one-day tours were still the most popular choices among Datong residents. The eight global tourism routes recommended by Datong authorities and the traveling routes launched by the Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism were especially well-received.
In addition, many locals chose to visit public cultural and artistic venues, commercial blocks, and gymnasiums to watch cultural and artistic performances, learn about Datong culture and intangible cultural heritage, and exercise.
