The first direct business-to-business (B2B), cross-border e-commerce exports from Datong city – located in North China's Shanxi province – have recently completed their customs clearances and been shipped out to Japan.
The B2B transaction undertaken by Shanxi Shengtongchang Maker Space Co involved exporting 50 TV antennas worth 85,000 Japanese yen ($772.49).
According to company spokesman Wang Ye, the order was made by a Japanese company through the Amazon platform. Shanxi Shengtongchang Maker Space Co filled in the customs forms on Aug 11 and exported the goods on Aug 31 from Laishan International Airport in Yantai in East China's Shandong province, via South Korea, and will arrive at Osaka Airport in Japan in three to five days.
Since it was recognized as one of a group national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in April 2020, Datong has adopted the development of cross-border e-commerce as a means to promote the city's foreign trade.
The cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export business – that will be processed under customs supervision method code 9710 – is of great significance to the city's development in this field.
Datong commerce bureau, Datong customs and Shanxi Shengtongchang Maker Space Co plan to export more cross-border e-commerce goods in the near future.
