Datong ramps up preparations for Expo Central China
Datong city is now reportedly in full swing with its preparations for the key part it is playing in the upcoming Expo Central China 2021 -- to be held in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, on May 21-23.
The city has boosted promotions of its business negotiations, exhibition arrangements, as well as epidemic prevention and control and emergency response times since the start of the preparatory work.
The expo will be held online and offline, with the main venue in Taiyuan and four branch venues in the cities of Datong, Shuozhou, Lyuliang and Jinzhong.
The Datong venue will focus on the advantages and special features of the city, such as its economic transformation, rural revitalization, agricultural products and cultural tourism. It will host four major events including the Datong Yungang Digital Carbon Neutralization Summit, a special product fair and an investment promotion.
The Datong Yungang Digital Carbon Neutrality Summit is expected to attract leading Chinese companies such as Tencent, JD, and Huawei. They will participate in and discuss various theories, technologies and applications issues in the field of big data -- as well as new technologies and products in the new energy field -- while showcasing the achievements of Datong's transformation and development.
The "Visiting Shanxi and Reading History" cultural tourism experience event will recount the story of Datong and Shanxi through various tourism experience projects and art forms.
Hundreds of special agricultural products and intangible cultural heritage products are scheduled to be displayed at the Datong venue.
The aim is for them to build a cooperation and exchange platform for businesses, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and help rural revitalization.
