The China-Belarus electric freight locomotives developed by CRRC Datong Co based in Datong city have hauled more than 1,600 China-Europe freight trains across Belarus since the beginning of 2021.

As of March 7, the China-Belarus electric freight locomotives had traveled 640,000 kilometers, transporting more than 150,000 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) of production and living materials, including pandemic prevention materials, clothing and auto parts.

According to Belarusian Railway, a state association under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus, China-Europe freight trains transported more than 1 million TEUs across Belarus in 2020, and 90 percent of the trains were hauled by the electric freight locomotives developed by CRRC Datong Co.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 on global sea and air transportation, the rail transportation service of China-Europe freight trains maintained stable and efficient operations in the past year.

The two kinds of China-Belarus electric freight locomotives exported by CRRC Datong Co to Belarus have served the China-Europe freight trains and transshipments from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, helping stabilize the supply chain of the international industrial chain. The two locomotive types are China's only railway locomotives that directly tow China-Europe freight trains overseas.

In recent years, CRRC Datong Co has continuously deepened technology research and development and improved customer service. It has been well received by Belarusian railway users since it began participating in the construction of Belarusian rail transit equipment. The company also won the country's railway locomotive order for the third time at the end of last year.

Next, the enterprise will continue to expand overseas markets by strengthening international production capacity cooperation, deepening rail transit technology R&D and management service exchanges, and promoting mutual benefit and win-win cooperation with Belarus.
