Datong city boosts nucleic acid testing capabilities
Datong city in North China's Shanxi province has advanced the construction of nucleic acid testing laboratories and institutions to improve its nucleic acid testing capabilities.
The city currently has 19 institutions with nucleic acid testing capabilities. One urban COVID-19 nucleic acid testing center and two public testing laboratories have been newly established, enhancing the city's daily maximum testing capacity to 50,000 samples every day.
The urban COVID-19 nucleic acid testing center in the Fifth People's Hospital of Datong can test 30,000 samples daily. The two public nucleic acid testing laboratories in the first and second people's hospitals of Datong can each test 5,000 samples every day.
These facilities will provide strong technical support and help prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 in Datong. They will also improve the city's emergency response capabilities for dealing with emerging infectious diseases.
