Major public transportation facilities in Datong city, including airports, railway stations and coach stations, have been furthering measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure passengers' safety.

Datong Yungang Airport has strengthened temperature checks for passengers, shippers and staff members, and the inspection of passenger itineraries.

The transport hub is disinfecting key public areas such as toilets, elevators and terminals at least five times a day and has opened the exhaust system throughout the day for ventilation. According to healthcare authorities, the airport has also strengthened the disinfection of the freight area and the disinfection and disposal of discarded masks.

The airport has improved employee protection, organized all employees to receive COVID-19 vaccinations on Jan 6 and 7, and continued to handle and report to passengers returning from overseas and medium- and high-risk areas.

As for railway stations, Datong South Railway Station and Datong Railway Station have established coordinated work mechanisms with government departments to keep abreast of the pandemic's latest developments to ensure an efficient and orderly response to emergencies. The stations have also optimized passenger entry and exit routes and increased disinfection frequency to cut off the pandemic's spread.

Starting from Jan 7, coaches from Datong East Coach Station to towns, counties and cities in Hebei province with medium- and high-risk infection have been suspended.
