The Datong Tus-College of Future Energy and the Tus-Future Energy Research Institute were established in Datong city in China's North Shanxi province on Dec 24.

The Datong Tus-College of Future Energy, a sub-college of the Datong Vocational and Technical College of Coal, is Shanxi province's first modern industry college to focus on future energy.

It's jointly established by Datong Vocational and Technical College of Coal, Tus Education Investment (Beijing) Co, and Datong Tus-Future Energy Technology Group.

The Tus-Future Energy Research Institute will be committed to industry-university-research cooperation and coordinated development in the new energy field, maximizing the use of talent and resources to provide impetus for energy reform.

Datong's mayor Wu Hongwen told the nameplate unveiling ceremony that he hoped the college and the institute would integrate Tus-Holdings' top resources in education, industry and technologies and rely on Datong Vocational and Technical College of Coal's administrative skills.

This, Wu said, would contribute more to the cultivation of Datong's energy talent and professionals, as well as the city's economic transformation and development.

Currently, the college and the institute have carried out student and faculty enrollments, finalized academic disciplines, arranged internships and training and scientific research cooperation.

They have opened five majors on photovoltaic power generation technology and application, mechatronics technology, thermal power installation, computer network technology and software technology and enrolled 108 freshmen.
