The Shanxi Department of Commerce recently rolled out a series of measures to support the development of private companies in North China's Shanxi province.

The support measures are divided into eight areas, including expanding into international markets and participating in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The province will boost training programs for private enterprises with the focus on cultivating export-oriented entrepreneurs, as well as advising more private enterprises on how to enter the international market and develop large foreign trade businesses.

It will also guide them on how to participate in domestic and foreign trade fairs, go abroad to investigate markets and advise them to focus on exploring and expanding markets in Hong Kong, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, South Asia, Central Asia, Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe.

Private enterprises are encouraged to set up sales outlets, service centers and distribution companies in targeted overseas markets.

In addition, Shanxi will guide private enterprises to connect with Taiyuan and Datong cities' cross-border e-public service platforms. It will help them establish business links with leading cross-border e-commerce giants -- such as Alibaba, Amazon, JD.com and eBay -- by leveraging the services of comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce in Taiyuan and Datong.
