Datong ABC Castings Co is a joint venture established by CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co and ABC Railway Products China Investment Co. It mainly manufactures cast steel wheels. Established in 1954, CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co is a national first-grade enterprise and one of the 500 largest industrial enterprises in the country. It is now affiliated with CRRC.

Datong ABC Castings Co has a total investment of 340 million yuan ($43.56 million) and registered capital of 230 million yuan, of which 60 percent was placed by CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co and the rest came from ABC Railway Products China Investment Co. 

The company was established on April 28, 1996. All infrastructure projects, installation projects and personnel training were completed within 26 months. The enterprise has an area of 45,126 square meters and more than 3,000 sets of equipment. It plans to manufacture 250,000 cast steel wheels annually.

By using advanced technologies and advanced production and quality management methods such as graphite sand lining, centralized riser feeding and sequential solidification, the quality of the products it manufactures has reached the world standard. The enterprise has passed ISO9001:2000 certification, ISO14000 certification, AARM170/208 product certification and AARM1003 quality system certification. Its HDZ, HDZA, HDZB, HEZB, GL-33, CE-28 and other products, with advantages such as high quality, good wear resistance, safety and reliability, have been exported to the United States.
