Datong Economic & Technological Development Zone
Datong Economic & Technological Development Zone (DETDZ), established in 1992, is a State-level economic and technological development zone, ratified by the State Council.
At the end of 2012, it was given the name of "Datong Characteristic Pharmaceutical Industry Base" in the National Torch Plan (a guidance plan to develop China's high technology industries) by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The economic and technological development zone is located in the eastern part of Datong and covers a total area of 239.4 square kilometers. It is closer to Beijing than any other State-level economic and technological zone in the central and western areas of China.
Since its establishment, Datong Economic & Technological Development Zone has followed the model of "one zone, multiple parks". To date, it has established a modern pharmaceutical industry park, an equipment manufacturing industry park, a new and high technological industries park, a modern service industry park and the Yudong industry park.
In addition, an aviation industry park, a new energy industry park, a big data industry park and the Zhongyin intelligent textile industry park are all under construction.
Cooperation has taken place with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University and the Worldwide Institutes Alliance For Achievements Transformation in order to benefit the innovation and development of Datong Economic & Technological Development Zone.
