New wetland park opens in Yangquan

Baiyangshu Wetland Park recently opened to the public in Yangquan city.

Baiyangshu Wetland Park is the second-phase project of the comprehensive ecological management plan for the city's Taohe River. 

The project, with a total length of about 3.25 kilometers, involved river dredging and the construction of water storage dikes, bridges and artificial wetlands. It's connected to Wudu Wetland Park in its upstream area.

The new wetland park integrates environmental protection, leisure and entertainment, and physical fitness. 

It covers a total area of 180,000 square meters, including 94,000 square meters of water area and 17,000 square meters of wetlands. There are 2,900 meters of roads in the park, including 1,900 meters of circular trails.

In addition, the park boasts 3,219 arbors and shrubs in 39 species and 29 species of vegetation and flowers.
