Pingyao youth win praise from Sri Lankan envoys

Two young boys from Pingyao county, North China's Shanxi province, recently won praise from staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in China after giving hip-hop performances. 

On Dec 12, the embassy held an art exchange to strengthen the friendship and cultural exchanges between China and Sri Lanka, with 19 children from Shanxi invited to perform three street dances that integrated elements of Chinese culture. 

The young dancers all received the "China-Sri Lanka Friendship Little Diplomat" certificate, and their leading teachers Cheng Pengju and Wu Qiong were awarded the "China-Sri Lanka Friendship Envoy" title and received the "China-Sri Lanka Friendship Medal for the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations".

Cheng Pengju said that the exchange activity showcased the Chinese street dance, enhanced children's sense of national pride, and inspired them to contribute to the country's development.
