Int'l filmmakers to attend Pingyao film festival

Several international film festival professionals will gather in Pingyao county for the 3rd Pingyao International Film Festival in October. 

Carlo Chatrian, newly appointed artistic director of the Berlin Film Festival, Christian Jeune, head of Cannes Film Festival's Film Office, and Giorgio Gosetti, director of Venice Days, will attend the film festival in Pingyao and interact with young Chinese filmmakers and audiences. 

Carlo Chatrian served as artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival since 2013 before taking up his new post with the Berlin Film Festival. Christian Jeune has worked for the Cannes International Film Festival for over three decades as a key member of the film department. Giorgio Gosetti is the director of Venice Days, which runs parallel to the Venice Film Festival and shows original independent films. 

Directors of other film festivals, including Shozo Ichiyama, director of Tokyo Filmex, will also gather in the county to learn about Chinese films. 

The 3rd Pingyao International Film Festival will be held from Oct 10 to 19 at Pingyao Festival Palace in the Ancient City of Pingyao.
