College students experience country life at summer camp

"Culture and Dream", a summer camp for university students, encouraged members of Pingyao's younger generation in Northern China's Shanxi province to know their hometown better.

A group of Pingyao college students studying in universities across China began the summer camp on July 28, hosted by the Pingyao county government. They biked 90 kilometers through 11 villages in the ancient city of Pingyao, visiting cultural relics and listening to guides' stories of local culture and history along the way.

The students also visited Tengda Ecological Park to experience rural life. They learned about local agriculture through a variety of games they played in the fields.
