Pingyao implements new cooperation project to boost tourism

A cooperation meeting takes place between Pingyao and the Jinzhong Culture and Tourism Foundation.

Pingyao held a meeting with the Jinzhong Culture and Tourism Foundation to discuss strategic cooperation on Monday, www.sxjz.gov.cn reported.

Li Liulan, deputy president of the Shanxi Provincial Chinese Culture Promotion Society, and county leaders, Wei Mingxi and Cao Zhisheng, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, a representative from the foundation introduced the cooperation project. Participants gave suggestions on its planning concept, business model and project management.

The project aimed to build Pingyao into a tourist distribution center to consolidate its leading position in Shanxi’s tourism industry. The diesel engine factory and cotton textile mill are major cooperation regions that will integrate the services of culture, innovation, entertainment, accommodation and museum. They will also be platforms for photography, intangible cultural heritage and cultural trade.

Wei pointed out that the project would expand and perfect the county’s tourism industry chain, and be significant to improving tourism level. “We should attract more investment to build the project into a new brand for Pingyao. We should also simplify procedures and provide good service to step up the implementation of the project,” added Cao.
