Jinzhong gets cultural tourism brand recognition

The city of Jinzhong, Shanxi province received an award at the 2nd Chinese Cultural Tourism Brand Construction and Development Summit, in Beijing, on April 12, for developing its tourism brands, putting it at the top in the province.

The awards were for achieving fame in six categories - cities, counties, towns, scenic spots, people, and slogans -- all of which have had an influence on the world.

Qixian county, in Jinzhong, got a "Well-known Cultural Tourism County" award, while two nearby spots, Pingyao's Old Town and the Qiao Grand Courtyard, each got the "Famous Cultural Tourism Scenic Spot" award, and the head of the Qiao Grand Courtyard’s folk museum, Wang Zhengqian, got a "China Cultural Tourism Celebrity" award.
