Pingyao gets 'ancient town for short- distance tourism' award

When the China Self-driving Travel Conference announced the results of its China travel routes study, on April 23, the old Town of Pingyao, Shanxi province came away with a gold medal among the towns competing for the short-distance tourism award.

The sponsor of the competition was Idriver Media and the purpose was to find the best annual routes for travel fans. The final selection came up with 36 routes including Pingyao Old Town, with its long history, traditions, and Jin Merchantes culture.
