Pingyao becomes key national development site

The Shanxi provincial government has published its Development Plan for Main Shanxi Functional Area, which gives the city of Jinzhong three key development sites – the Yuci district, Jiexiu, and Pingyao county -- the Jinzhong Evening News reported, on April 18.

Shanxi has chosen 39 counties, cities or districts for the national plan, with the three Jinzhong areas expected to demonstrate resource-oriented economic change while serving as important energy-development, raw-materials manufacturing, coal chemical, equipment and manufacturing, and cultural tourism sites.
