The Ancient City of Pingyao is connected by four avenues, eight side streets and 72 lanes. Most of the main attractions feature ancient architecture, including the "three treasures of Pingyao", which refers to the city wall, Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple. The two temples are located outside of the ancient city. Visitors can walk to the scenic spots in Ancient City of Pingyao, except for Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple, which requires a bike or bus ride.

Tickets are not needed to sightsee, find accommodations and have meals in the city.

Through tickets are also offered to tourists. They can visit 22 scenic spots in the Ancient City of Pingyao with one through ticket which is valid for three days. The sights include: the city wall, Rishengchang Exchange Shop Musuem, the ancient county government, Qingxu Taoist Temple, Town God Temple, Baichuan Tong, Xie Tongqing Money House, the Museum of Tianjixiang, Lei Lyutai's former house, the Museum of the Chamber of Commerce, Tongxinggong Escort Agency, the Museum of Ancient Residences, North China First Escort Agency, the Museum of China's Escort Agency, Weishengchang, Wen Temple, and the Exhibition Hall of Chinese Unique Newspapers.

Tourists are supposed to visit the 22 spots only once. In addition, visiting Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple requires additional tickets.

The Ancient City of Pingyao: 125 yuan per person; discount ticket -- 65 yuan per person

Shuanglin Temple: 35 yuan per person; discount ticket -- 15 yuan per person

Zhenguo Temple: 25 yuan per person; discount ticket -- 10 yuan per person

Half price for teenagers and students aged 18 and below with valid documents;

Free for the elderly aged 60 and above, people with disabilities, soldiers in service, and children below 1.2 meters in height (with valid documents)
