The number of COVID-19 vaccination sites in Datong city in North China's Shanxi province will increase to 233 to facilitate convenient vaccinations for residents, according to an announcement from the Datong Center for Disease Control and Prevention on April 22.

There will be 210 fixed vaccination sites and 23 temporary vaccination sites.

The fixed vaccination sites are mainly located at community health service institutions, township health centers and clinics and hospitals in the city.

The temporary vaccination sites will begin operating in May and include high-traffic public venues such as Datong Railway Station, Datong East Coach Station, Wanda Plaza and Tongmei Stadium.

The daily number of vaccinations in May and June is expected to exceed 100,000, making the period the most intense phase yet of the public immunization campaign.

Datong will implement a vaccination appointment system to avoid the gathering of crowds and keep the vaccination work running smoothly.

Citizens can book a vaccination appointment at a nearby inoculation site through online platforms such as Alipay and the official WeChat account of Health Shanxi. A reservation bar code will be provided after an appointment has been booked.
