Young gymnasts shine at provincial games

The rhythmic gymnastics competition of the 16th Games of Shanxi Province concluded in Datong, North China's Shanxi province, on July 30.

The competition was divided into groups A, B, and C. It featured events such as the individual all-around and competitions with three different apparatuses (ball, clubs, and ribbon). There were also team events involving five hoops and five balls. 

One hundred and twenty-six young athletes from eight provincial cities participated in the event. Zhao Chengyun from Taiyuan and Zhang Yuxin from Jinzhong stood out with outstanding performances, winning first place in four events. 

The six city representative teams collectively won 53 medals. The team of Yangquan city dominated the podium, winning 21 medals.
