North China's Shanxi province recently issued a guidance plan to standardize the pilot construction of national grassland natural parks in the province.

According to the plan, each pilot site will complete the implementation plan for the construction of national grassland natural parks by the end of June, finish the construction by the end of May 2025, apply to the State for acceptance, and open to the public by the end of August 2025.

Each pilot site is required to promote ecological protection and restoration, rational utilization and demonstration, ecological tourism and popular science, scientific research monitoring and evaluation, infrastructure construction and management.

The national natural grassland park is an important part of the development of the natural reserve system in China.

In 2020, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration launched the first batch of pilot construction of national grassland natural parks, and Shanxi's Qinyuan Huapo Grassland and Qinshui Demonstration Ranch were identified as pilot sites.
