The construction of the Shanxi Branch of the National Third Generation Semiconductor Technology Innovation Center is progressing in North China's Shanxi province.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has deployed six national third-generation semiconductor technology innovation centers in the cities of Shenzhen, Nanjing, Suzhou, and Beijing, as well as the provinces of Shanxi and Hunan.

North University of China will participate in the construction of the Shanxi branch.

The university has long been researching third-generation semiconductor technology and has formed unique capabilities in device design, high aspect ratio etching, high-reliability ohmic contact, and high-temperature bonding packaging.

It boasts strong research teams, sufficient research and development funds, advanced platforms and an effective training model for semiconductor talent. Its microelectronics science and engineering major was recognized as a national first-class discipline in 2020.

During the construction of the Shanxi branch, the university will carry out industry-leading technological research and development, and cultivate a number of professionals to serve semiconductor industrial growth in Shanxi.
