Shanxi recommends travel routes for Spring Festival break

The Shanxi Department of Culture and Tourism recently launched eight recommended travel routes for the upcoming Spring Festival holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6, to provide convenient travel guides for tourists in North China's Shanxi province during the period.

The eight routes involves tourist attractions themed around the Yellow River scenery, ancient Chinese civilization, roots-seeking and ancestor worship, the natural landscapes of Taihang and Lyuliang mountains, the religions and residences of Shanxi merchants, ancient castles, the Great Wall and frontier scenery and the history of the Communist Party of China.

The routes also feature recommend featured folk customs and celebrations for the Chinese New Year, homestays and popular restaurants and snack bars. 

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, each scenic spot is implementing different prevention and control policies. 

Before traveling, it is necessary for travelers to prepare in advance, keep abreast of the opening of the scenic spots, make online reservations and take protective measures.
