Shanxi universities shine at national innovation, entrepreneurship contest

Colleges and universities in North China's Shanxi province won five golds, eight silvers and 42 bronzes in the finals of the 7th China International "Internet +" University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
The competition consisted of five sections, including sections for higher education, vocational education, and industry. It attracted 4,347 colleges and universities from 121 countries and regions, bringing with them more than 2.28 million entries.
Shanxi's gold winners were Shanxi Medical University and Taiyuan University of Technology. The gold winning projects involved the fields of medicine, steel, and high-end equipment.
In recent years, Shanxi has continuously strengthened the cultivation of students' innovative spirit, entrepreneurial awareness, and innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities based on the needs of the province's industrial development.
In 2021 alone, the province's colleges and universities received approval for 353 national-level college students innovation and entrepreneurship training programs and 118 national-level industry-university collaborative education projects, and incubated 688 outstanding undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship projects.
