Shanxi adds 88 foreign-invested firms in Jan-Aug period

North China's Shanxi province added 88 newly registered foreign-funded enterprises in January to August, a year-on-year increase of 66.04 percent.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the province's actual use of foreign capital was $230 million during the period, which was up 44.29 percent year-on-year.

In terms of the source of the funds, the actual use of foreign capital from Singapore increased 333.5 percent year-on-year, that from Canada was up 33.5 times and capital from Germany gained 180 percent. 

Broken down by industry, the actual use of foreign capital in the secondary industry grew 20.67 percent year-on-year, while that in the tertiary industry surged 252.39 percent year-on-year.
