The team consisting of Olympic athletes won gold in the women's five-a-side basketball match on Sept 14 during the 14th National Games in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

This is the first time that Olympic athlete teams have participated in the National Games. In addition to basketball events, shooting, women's football, diving, and rugby events also featured the participation of Olympic athlete teams.

According to competition regulations, each member of an Olympic athlete team can receive a gold medal for his or her delegation.

Wu Tongtong, a member of the Olympic athlete team for the women's five-a-side basketball match, won the third gold medal for the Shanxi delegation.

Wu is the first basketball player to represent Shanxi in the Olympic Games. She serves as a pointguard and is skilled at three-point shooting.

In September 2019, Wu was selected for the Chinese Women's Basketball Team. She has participated in the Women's Basketball Asian Cup, the Tokyo Olympics, and the ongoing National Games, and has always given impressive performances.
