North China's Shanxi province recently issued a plan to boost the number of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to Shanxi Bureau of Promotion of Small Enterprise Development on Aug 17.

The plan outlines 26 support measures in eight areas, including innovation in techniques, management, financing and services.

Under the plan, Shanxi aims to have more than 300 provincial-level small and micro-sized enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship bases by the end of 2025.

Over the same period, it also plans to have over 2,500 provincial-level SMEs with strong competitiveness, strong innovation capacity and good growth potential in specific industries, and some 10,000 industrial companies above a designated size, each with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.09 million) or more.
