The members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from North China's Shanxi province plan to submit 12 joint proposals to the fourth session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, which opened in Beijing on March 4.

CPPCC National Committee members from the province submitted four joint proposals last year, including one on poverty alleviation policies for poor senior residents, which was listed as a key proposal and adopted by the CPPCC National Committee.

This year, the 12 joint proposals by these national political advisers include the continued follow-up and promotion of water conservancy projects, the construction of the Taiyuan-Suide high-speed rail line and dryland farming.

The proposals also encourage the construction of a large-scale ground observation device for gravitational wave detection based on quantum light sources, the integrated development of Shanxi province and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the establishment of China (Shanxi) Free Trade Pilot Zone, the carbon-based new materials industry and forestry development in the Yellow River basin in Shanxi.
