Shanxi province has promoted 102 key industrial transformation and upgrading projects -- each worth over 100 million yuan ($14.34 million) -- to advance economic its transformation. 

According to the Shanxi Department of Industry and Information Technology on Dec 10, a total investment of 53.2 billion yuan has been put in place and 34 projects completed or put into production. 

So far, 79 emerging industrial projects involving digital, new materials and new energy vehicle sectors have seen funding of 38.9 billion yuan, officials said. 

A total of 29 projects have started equipment installation and trial runs and 23 projects have been totally or partly gone into production. 

Development zones across Shanxi province have been clusters for these projects. 

According to the department, there are 85 projects with a total investment of 177.8 billion yuan in 30 development zones in the province. 

Among the development zones, Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone has attracted the most key industrial projects, totaling 13 in number.
