Datong city in northern Shanxi province was recently included in the list of 2019 top 50 Chinese cities for their health and senior care, released at the first China Health & Senior Care Conference in Beijing on Dec 7-8.

Datong ranks 44th on the list, being the only one from Shanxi province included.

The term a health and senior care city refers to a city that features a better green environment, taking the health industry as one of its core development industries -- and integrating development health, senior care, leisure and the tourism sectors. 

The list was selected according to the indicators, using big data. 

In recent years, Datong has been boosting its local health and senior care industry, based on its local abundant health care resources -- with preliminary preparations for the planning and construction of a core health care industrial demonstration park project completed.
