A freight train loaded with ceramic products left Yingxian county in Shuozhou city in Shanxi province, bound for Vietnam on Nov 9, according to rail officials.

Starting off from the inland port comprehensive logistics park operated by Shanxi Jingwei Tongda Shares Co, the freight train has adopted multimodal transport systems supported by China Railway Taiyuan Group, Tangshan Port Group and the Taiyuan branch of China Railway Container Transport Co.

The train was loaded at Yingxian county, moving by rail to Jingtang Port and then shipped to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam -- with a total journey of 3,000 kilometers.

The opening of the multimodal transport route from Yingxian county to Vietnam is a move by Shuozhou city to implement and promote the national Belt and Road Initiative, officials said.

The metropolis will develop a new logistics channel for the local architectural and the household ceramics industry, expand the international markets of local ceramic products and promote the development of trade and logistics in Shuozhou and Datong cities.
