Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co (TISCO) (太原钢铁(集团)有限公司) is an iron and steel giant and a leading enterprise in the global stainless steel industry, which operates iron ore mining, steel production, processing, distribution and trade.

Founded in 1934, TISCO has been developing special steel as its major brand. The company once produced the first ladle of stainless steel, the first piece of hot-rolled silicon steel and the first bulk amount of electromagnetic pure iron in China. It now has full process stainless steel production lines of first-class international standard.

TISCO has an annual production capacity of 12 million tons (of which 4.5 million tons are stainless steel). As a stainless steel producer with the fullest range of grades and specifications of products worldwide, it can produce various carbon steel and stainless steel products, including high-quality cold-rolled coil/plate, welding tubes, and precise strip and large castings.

Some of TISCO's key products have been used in petroleum, chemicals, shipbuilding, containers, railways, automobiles, urban light rail, power generation, spacecraft and emerging industries. Over 20 kinds of its products enjoy the biggest market share in China. More than 30 varieties have replaced imported counterparts, of which pen tip steel, high-Mn high-N stainless steel and AP1000 third generation extrusion C type stainless steel for nuclear power have contributed greatly to the domestic promotion of some key materials.

TISCO adheres to eco-friendly development. It has been building green development systems for mining, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, products and industry. The company has successfully put into operation several energy-saving, emission-reducing and circular economy projects.

The company has also been committed to transformation and upgrading. It has put a lot of efforts into constructing an internationally competitive steel industrial chain. It has also been developing sectors in new materials, modern finance, healthcare, engineering technology and international trade to realize coordinated development of diversified businesses and its core steel business. It has been promoting international management, maintaining stable business relationships with more than 80 countries and regions including the United States, Germany, France, Japan and South Korea, and has continued to be China's largest stainless steel exporter.

TISCO's next move will be to make its main business more competitive while carrying out extensive diversification, and green and harmonious development, with the aim of being the most competitive stainless steel producer in the world and a worldwide leading enterprise.
