Pingyao set to implement key livelihood projects

Pingyao county in Shanxi province is set to prioritize the successful implementation of 10 livelihood projects this year, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the well-being of its residents.
In Buyi township, efforts will be directed towards addressing coal mining subsidence issues in five villages, with the ambitious goal of providing housing to residents in the affected areas.
In the Fengyan community, the county plans to implement the "Happy Elderly Care Project" and complete renovations on 1,900 homes of elderly individuals who are facing special difficulties.
Furthermore, the county aims to enrich the cultural lives of its residents by organizing 1,500 cultural activities this year, including 85 free rural theatrical performances.
Support will also be a focus for the county. It is set to aid 196 students with disabilities, provide emergency rehabilitation assistance to 96 disabled children, and offer basic assistive devices subsidies to 590 individuals in need.
Healthcare initiatives are also a priority, with plans to conduct endoscopic examinations on 250 individuals who are at high risk of upper gastrointestinal cancer. Moreover, Pingyao will extend free accidental injury and hospitalization insurance to elderly residents over 60 years old across the county.
Legal and community support services will also be provided to local residents, including free legal consultations, legal aid for special groups, and continued implementation of free medical check-ups for teachers.
In addition, the county has plans to install 100 sets of fitness facilities in residential areas, parks, and squares. This will further promote a healthy and active lifestyle among its residents.
