CPPCC Pingyao Committee opens annual session

The 16th Pingyao County Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) – the top political advisory body in Pingyao county of North China's Shanxi province – started its fourth session on March 5. 

The opening conference was attended by 227 political advisers, including Wang Xuan, chairman of the 16th CPPCC Pingyao Committee. 

Wang delivered the 16th CPPCC Pingyao Committee's work report at the session, which reviewed the efforts and achievements made in 2023, and then set out the work plan for 2024. 

Shi Xinjian, executive chairman of the opening conference, reported on the handling of proposals from members of the Standing Committee of the 16th CPPCC Pingyao Committee. 

A total of 211 proposals from individuals, political parties and various organizations have been collected since the third session of the 16th CPPCC Pingyao Committee in March 2023, said Shi. 

Among the proposals, 145 were put on record for further discussion and implementation – 87 having been adopted, resolved or are currently being resolved, and 51 are being prepared for handling. These proposals reflect the opinions and suggestions of Pingyao residents. 

The conference also announced the commendation decisions for outstanding members of CPPCC Pingyao Committee.
