Pingyao, Shanxi Agricultural University strengthen agricultural cooperation

Leaders of the Pingyao county government, as well as several business executives, visited Shanxi Agricultural University on Dec 21 to discuss county-university cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the development of Pingyao's agricultural industry, as well as its current needs.

Feng Yuquan, head of the Pingyao county government, expressed the hope for enhanced communication and coordination between the two parties. He suggested that both sides should jointly formulate plans and conduct in-depth cooperation across various fields. 

Highlighted pivotal projects focus on the high-quality development of Pingyao's beef industry, the prevention and control of freeze damage in crisp pear spring flowers, the prevention and control of rot disease in Chinese yam, and formulation of a feed plan for livestock and poultry farming.

Zhang Qiang, president of Shanxi Agricultural University, stated that the university would leverage its technical and talent resources in order to facilitate cooperation between the county and the university. The university will establish communication mechanisms and empower Pingyao's food processing, planting, and breeding industries.
